A walk to the highest point in Cornwall is a must, not a mountain but on a windy day certainly feels like you could be on top of one.
Located on windswept Bodmin Moor, you will be treated to uninterrupted 360 degree views across Cornwall's unspoilt moorland. Both of these iconic peaks can be completed in a single hike starting from the Rough Tor car park, with steep sections, boulders and the ever changing Cornish weather make sure you go equipped.
We would class this hike as challenging due to the steep climbs and uneven services so bare this in mind before starting.
The circular walk is around 4.5 miles which should take around 2 hours, keep an eye open for the cows and ponies. These cows seem to love congregating in front of gates and don't like to move, cows are not Cathy's favourite animal and some of these beasts were on the large side! With a bit of cow whispering we managed to make our way slowly through and continued to the summit of Brown Willy.
The views from the top are well worth the short climb, just hold on to your hat as it was very windy, returning back on a similar route we took in Rough Tor pronounced as Rowtor.
This was a great invigorating morning walk and should definitely be on your must do list.
