Alesund, Norway-The Gateway To The Stunning Fjords.

Two amazing viewpoints to see and a beautiful town. The main walking attractions of Alesund are SukkerToppen Mountain and Aksla Viewpoint.

We made the walk to SukkerToppen Mountain, passing the Atlantic Sea Park Aquarium. By the Aquarium there was a small coved beach known as Badestrand. The walk around the base of SukkerToppen is beautiful with peaceful views of the fjords.

The link to Komoot will show you where we started the walk up to SukkerToppen, it was signposted for fellow walkers and the walk up to the peak was as ever scenic.

We made our descent down to the village of Hessa and across the bridge back into Alesund.

In the afternoon after lunch, we walked up to the Aksla Viewpoint, sightseeing the views across Alesund with 418 steps to the top! At the top, there is a Restaurant called Fjellstua with a balcony overviewing the islands surrounding the town.
